November 2009 (one night only) Berlino del Muro. Wunderkammern Gallery. Rome, It.
The artist will suggest his own reflection on the social and cultural context of the city in relationship with the history, and monumental complex.
The author Chimamanda Adichie speaks of the danger of a single story: “show a people as one thing, and only one thing, over and over again and that is what they become; a single story.” A rose can represent a single story in Rome- a single story that has come to define the people who sell them on the street. By offering a rose as gift rather then a monetary transaction the story becomes slightly skewed. This skew is meant to provoke further reading behind the rose and subsequently the people distributing them.
